Hints and Tips
Welcome to the future of lighting So you are thinking of converting your Caravan Boat or Motor Caravan to LED lighting. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when deciding what to buy.
When looking to replace ordinary bulbs with LED'S we find most people compare the price of LED'S to the price of ordinary bulbs. The prices don't compare. The difference between LED'S and ordinary bulbs are as wide as the gap between the piston engine and the jet engine. LED'S Last much longer and give off very little heat. Most of our customers have Mobile homes or Boats they have spent a considerable amount of money on their vehicles They have found that fitting our LED'S Have saved them money, And increased the value of their Boat or Motor Home. They have saved money because they do not need huge amounts of Battery storage To meet their power needs. They have saved money because they are not replacing bulbs all the time, They do not require large solar panels and heavy wiring to meet the huge power requirements of Halogen Bulbs. Their Vehicles have gained value because they have a true low energy lighting system That is virtually maintenance free. And allow them to stay out at sea or away from camping grounds for a much longer time. To not fit LED'S to your pride and joy is like putting wooden wheels on a Ferrari.
Reading Lights for above beds, tables etc - we recommend our Eoro styled lights with the M16 HO bulb. These give out a focused white light ideal for reading and hobby activities. An alternative would be down lights with MR16 HO bulbs. For ambient light our Dome lights with the 18 LED star configuration are excellent as they give off light equal to a 10w halogen. Down lights can also be used with either M16 24 LED bulb or M16 32 LEDs with the wide beam configuration. For above bench lights we recommend MR16 24 or MR16 32 Narrow bulbs in down lights as they are a more direct beam. You could also use Light Bars. For mood lighting or pelmet lights Light Bars are ideal or even Bolt lights. An alternative for interior lights are the new Cold Cathode lights, these are a great replacement for Fluro units and use a fraction of the power - these are available in single or double tube configurations.
Automotive Bulbs We recommend you choose the bulb colour for the application... eg. Red for Tail lights, amber for Indicators etc. These work best facing the direction you want the light to be seen. LEDs do not emit much light from the side of the bulb.
